For our music video we are adding in references of violence. It will be more realistic if we include blood effects and bruising effects. This can be done through the use of make up. There is no need to buy software to add the blood as it would be expensive and probably not look that realistic.
I have looked at various different ways of pulling of this injury effect, bruising will look more realistic and wont be as hard to pull of as say several cuts. Here is one video with some very practical and impressive ways to pull of cuts and bruises effectively:
Obviously this will take time to do so we need to practise applying it before shooting; we will also see what injuries we like the look of.
